Really Lock Up - Don't Take Chances

Take no chances, do take extra precautions and really lock up if you are going away for holidays during this festive season. Even though, there is a better security in place now, it is never enough to deter a break in which had happened so frequently at Pearl Garden.

There has been alot of finger pointing to who is responsible to keep the security team in ship shape condition and many security companies had been replaced for the past years (I have stayed here for the past 10 years and I have my share of experiences with our security guards). The previous ones (a few years back) were caught having beer during working hours and I believed sacking them was the right decision. No mercy.

Yup, I was the one who told off the previous security supervisor (Jeffrey) that her men were having fun drinking beers and getting drunk when they were supposed to be working. Sure, some will say, what is a few beers? What harm can it do? Small matter what, a few beers only...so petty things..

You see, no one appreciates such things, until something really bad happened, for example to the extreme, these security guards got so drunk and they slept throughout the night and burglars ransacked your home, beat you up and "abused" your family. But when that happens, it is too late, there is no way to turn back the clock. But what the heck, petty things, right? As long as it does not happen to you or your family, it is ok...

Nevertheless, thanks to all of the residents' feed backs and support all this while, the current security team is on their toes, surprisingly some improvement can be seen (sometimes I pity them, when they see me, they see Satan or they try to look busy or something).

Anyway, that's beside the point, the most important thing is, they know that they are here to provide a sense of security to all who lived at Pearl Garden, whether they are owners or tenants, there are expectations. They know that we expect a certain commitment and quality from them. By the way, owners and tenants are paying their salary. Or do they protect the owners only and leave the tenants to fend for themselves?

You see, "residents" (owners and tenants = residents) should dictate the quality of service and I am not only talking about security, it can be cleanliness of the surrounding area or it could the manner the management team is handling certain issues. It could just be anything.

This blog will continue to provide such insights and information to those who appreciate it, and this blog will continue to voice out issues which may not be pleasant or favourable to certain people, it will continue to demand for answers, it will remain constructive, fair and I always preach freedom of speech.

For those who have weak hearts or may feel offended by the contents of this blog, please stay out. You have no business here.

  1. Jimmy,

What do you mean by this statement?
[*Or do they protect the owners only and leave the tenants to fend for themselves?*]

We pay for security so everyone in PG have the right to security, be it owners, tenants, visitors and properties inside PG, including the Dato Kong Shrine. I believe even our Dato Kong is blessing us with security.

Why this emphasis? [*owners and tenants = residents*].
Of course, even our Guardian Angel Dato Kong is considered a resident here. Is someone confusing you or is it something that you drink or smoke before you write all these?...LOL

Umm…..this pic reminds me of… oh yes!! seen some by the pool at night on certain day of the week.

  3. Hello,
Talking about security issue, I saw the security supervisor sleeping by the side of guard house this morning at about 630am. He was enjoying the natural air-cond from morning breeze. His two guards were in the guard house. This is how a "good" leadership by example. Can he control his junior not to sleep when on duty? God bless you all in PG. I hope there is no another break-in in PG during Raya holiday.

  4. Jimmy, Do you know why the guards we currently have some are different from photos on the notice boards? We now have old man and young kid. Can you please check?

  5. Hi KPC,

Thanks for the information. Aha, again this will be seen by certain quarters (mainly the Security Committee of PG) an effort to "victimize" the security supervisor or the security team here.

What the SC and the management fail to realize is that everyone is watching the security team and not only a few of us who were conveniently accused to have a grudges with the security team.

It is because that we are all concerned over the safety issue.

I am not sure if you are referring to the guy who wears black (and why is he not wearing a uniform by the way?)who you saw earlier "sleeping enjoying natural air-cond", but yes, he has been seen sleeping inside the guard house too.

Anyway, KPC, can I advice you to make a report to the management office (officially, there is a form) so that they will take the necessary actions. It will bring more weight if you are an owner, if you are a tenant, please get your owner to make an official complain.

At the meantime, I will forward your comments to the related MC members. By experience, the Security Committee is not responsive here and they do not believe in getting direct feed backs from residents from this blog. They felt that the comments here are heavily one sided.

But, you can be assured that your concerns will be forwarded to the MC Chairman, Mr Gan. Whether he or his team replies, is another thing.

    Thank you very much.

  6. Hi AL,

Yes, I noticed that too. I have asked the MC about this, as I thought I saw some foreigners within the security team a few weeks ago. I wanted to confirm this with the security committee because from what I was told, we only employ Malaysian guards. So, far the respond from SC is so disappointing.

Please don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against foreign staff as long as they perform. I merely want a permanent list so that we recognize them.

Anyway, AL, can I advice you to make a report to the management office (officially, there is a form) so that they will take the necessary actions.

It will bring more weight if you are an owner, if you are a tenant, please get your owner to make an official complain.

End of the day, what we want is the same, security and safety for all.

I will forward your comments to Mr. Gan, MC Chairman, hopefully he can will take up a proactive position and "persuade" the related parties to reply, but don't put your hopes too high.

Anyway, the comments here will be a testimonial to refer to if an incident occur. Thanks very much for your kind comment and support.

  7. Jimmy, The sleeping guard is the supervisor with crew-cut hair style. I have seen his photo on the notice board. What action will the management take for sleeping on the job. How do I ensure I am not victimized if I reveal my identity? From what you say, can I trust the management? It seems they are so irresponsible. Can you lodge a complaint on our behalf.

  8. Hi, Talking about security, I got one question to ask. I am from Block B. I saw two guards coming to 12 floor by lift at about 10.35pm. One come out to open the TNB meter room and do something for a few seconds and another guard pressing the lift door open to wait. They looked suspicious. The TNB room is always locked. Why the guard open it? What is he doing?

  9. Hi KPC,

I know what you mean,we don't want you to be a "marked man"..LOL

Well as far as the management is concerned, they have been mute over several emails regarding security issues which I have sent.

If the management office is open tomorrow, I will again highlight these issues to them. Thank you for your feed back.

  10. Hello Ooi,

TNB room? Not sure man. Maybe they are checking for something. But I am curious why there are 2 guards involved? Suspicious? Yes. Do you recognize them?

I will check with the PIC and management. Hopefully, they can give me some indication on the incident.

  11. Jimmy,

I only saw one guard clearly but the other one in the lift also wear uniform. I've checked the notic board, this young Indian guard's photo is not there.

  15. We have a Security Supervisor sleeping on duty. It is like MACC is involve in corruption or like Police is robbing a bank.
Who is responsible for his work performance??? And why must we accept this kind of crap? This is like paying RM10 for a Panadol and our headache is still not going away??

All, I think if you touch your forehead, you will feel a lump and if you look down in front of you, you can see lying on the floor is a horse that is not moving.
So open up your eyes, stop banging your head on the wall and stop flogging the dead horse!!! Nothing is going to change and how can you have different results if you still have the same quality at the helm. Remove the wall and get another horse so that you can move ahead. Period!!!!

  16. With this kind of service, can we reduce the RM135 maintenance fees?

    John Payne

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hi Teh,

Yes, you may have a point here, if the unfamiliar faces are the replacement guards, at least put up a "temporary" notice at the notice board.

It is not the residents' intention to make complains, you think we have so much time watching the guards and have nothing to do, is it? LOL

Statistics say that break ins are at its peak during festive seasons where people "balik kampung" and leave their homes at the mercy of the burglars.

It is better for all of us to be "extremely" suspicious than sorry.

    Dick,

New guards or replacement guards? You see, no body knows....not that we are not communicating with MCs via blog and emails...sigh...

Anyway, as for the proof, do I have it? Hmmm...That's for me to know and for the Security Committee to find out...

    John,

Welcome to the blog..btw "balik kampung" means going back to home town...

Reduction in maintenance fees is much appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  18. We get charged with interest or go to court when we are late in paying the maintenance fees.
Can we charge the MC or Management for condoning Gross Work Negligence and Security Company for sub-standard service and engaging in misconduct regarding the “sleeping while on duty” security Supervisor?

Jimmy, can you please help check this out and feedback to the residents?

  19. Cat,

No need to seek further, I engaged security guards for my company, but due to so many problems with the attitude of security company and its guards (one was even suspected ransacking our office and took away some cash - we caught him via CCTV) we decided to have our own security team which consist of Nepalese...So far so good.

Anyway, we deduct payment from the security company's fees if we found the guards to be sleeping or not complying to our requirements. It is as simple as that. Since we have CCTV all over the factory and strategic areas, it was easy to monitor.

I believe it is also implemented here, but it is the execution that is needed. You can have all the rules and regulations you want, but if you do not implement them, it is useless..

  20. Jimmy,

Thank God, now you are back to normal and making sense when you talk. You get me worried the last few days after you started talking nonsense like [*Or do they protect the owners only and leave the tenants to fend for themselves?*] and [*It will bring more weight if you are an owner, if you are a tenant, please get your owner to make an official complain*] umm…wonder where you get this view from…you sure it’s not from a cuckoo????

Well, see what a little “Rock and Roll” can do wonders to you after your visit to the HRH….uh???? LOL

  22. Missteh,
Your comments make no sense. What clocking-in (to work) at Block B 12 floor? Why you need another guard to accompany and wait for him inside the lift? What bloody system do PG MC has? Don't talk cock!

  23. Dick Tan,

Can you please enlighten the blog community what MC has done to uplift the security in PG. Re your comment on proof, do you want resident do a SD? Do you think residents have nothing to do just simply accuse Security? It is the responsibilities of MC to ensure they discharge their roles. Otherwise just get lost. Still on document proof, please tell me what action will MC take if I produce one. MC have been mute on some many complaints on the blog. Come on, don't just talk. Dare to take my challenge? I'll take you on with solid proof.

  25. Jimmy,

I believe “common” people have the right to freedom of speech without fear or favour on issues affecting them that is created by the arbitrary “normal” people with a little bit of self appointed power or authority to make unilateral decision for other common people like Ooi, you and me.

I can understand this is your blog and we do not have the rights but is given the privileges by you to comment. However, I still would like to strongly suggest that you put back the words meant to be expressed by Ooi but with some symbols in place for certain letters in the exclamation. Do not deprive or stop Ooi from saying what he has in mind during your moderation unless there is a possibility of false accusation or outright threatening of another individual, or encouraging others to create mayhem.

Let’s be accommodating enough to permit others to express their thoughts or viewpoints on any issues in whatever way or the only way they know how even if we disagree with them and must be in a position to take hits no matter how hard it is.

Do not be like some chicken-shit applying gag-order or stop replying by trying to stay opaque or translucent. This is what I call.......[*use your imagination*]

I hope you can still allow your blog to be dynamic.

  31. Dick,

MC has just put up a memo on complaints must be on paper otherwise it will be just considered as blogging lies. It is just like the f...king Polis (PDRM) or The Islamic court of our country. No report, no investigation and produc 4 male witnesses when a female is raped. The MC is not much better! What is the point of having wifi at club house when email complaints are ignored. Only cowards & those who know they are in the wrong will hide under their mothers' sarong!

Jimmy, how can I pass you a video of the sleeping guard. This is another incident after my comments earlier. Do I upload it to YouTube for the whole world to see how PG manage their security or just put a copy of dvd to all units in PG? Just like the MCA CSL's dvd. You tell me!

    kpc

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi KPC,

By the way, is the WIFI fully operational now? Gan told me that it should be operational last weekend. Anyone has the permanent password to log in? Any notice indicating the password or do we need to write in....sigh

KPC, those comments or feed backs from the residents here are not lies, I believe they all have their own opinions and found it convenient to log on to the blog and rant about certain issues. I hope that MC has a better perception of the blog and participate with an open heart.

As for sleeping guard video you can pass the file to me in the form of DVD (drop it into my mail box) or you can actually upload into youtube and let me know the url so that I could embed it into the blog.

Please provide the details like time and date etc..

Like that sound more reasonable. I reteive my word "c...k". It is for man only. Anyway are you the MC Treasure from Block B. We are neighbor-lah. When you say checking, do you mean petrolling? Then why take lift and have 2 guards together? Are they afraid of ghost-ah? It still don't make sense. Then, it is dangerous since we only have 3 guards, one at guard house.
Anyone can help to explain this.
