Tennis Courts Need Repairs

The tennis courts at Pearl Garden are in a bad shape. The special coating is peeling off and it is slippery when wet and sandy when dry. It is hazardous to players and the management should take the necessary steps to restore the condition of the tennis courts.

To save cost, management should consider repairing one tennis court and convert the other to a basketball court. The basketball court can be cement rendered.

Security Guards Are Foreigners?

I saw sitting by the poolside yesterday morning and for the first time, I did not recognise the faces of our security guards. Usually, it was the usual faces but there were these 3 guards with uniform who are strangers to me, well at least for me...

I think it would be helpful if the management could put up the security guards' faces on the notice boards like before. When I checked with a MC, he told me that all security guards at Pearl Garden are Malaysians, but yesterday morning, I was quite sure some of them were foreigners.

Maybe I should get in touch with Roland Yeoh who also saw them as he was walking to his car yesterday morning, just to be sure.

Still on the security matter, one of our resident (codename ET) took this photo of a guard sleeping, but I do not know the exact date the photo was taken. Sleeping on duty is a big offense and such incident should not happen. Before the appropriate "authorities" take the necessary steps to eliminate such recurrence, kindly check in detail the cause of this problem. Root cause is important.

Shifts are too long? Overtime? Working conditions? Sick?

This morning (Sept 7, 2009) at about 06:48 hours, I noticed that 2 security guards were doing their rounds at the multi-storey car park which is very good and at the same time, I saw a security guard patrolling the service road. Good job and keep it up!

Just a note, can the guards wear proper shoes rather than slippers?

Results from my Feed Backs...

Hi guys, just wanna say that I am sorry for not updating the blog for quite awhile. Well, I am back now.

Just to update about the 2 feed backs which I sent to GE Tan :-

1. TV reception bad for certain channels.

GE Tan informed that there is nothing they could do as some units have better reception than the other. So, end of the day, NOTHING CAN BE DONE. But does it solve my problem, NO!

2. Balcony gutter leaking

GE Tan inspected the leakage and said that such leakages are known and many had complained. So, in order to save cost, GE Tan wants to wait for all gutters to leak so that they can save cost by performing a one time repair (the more the cheaper type of thinking). Well, that's what I reckoned. So, end of the day, again NOTHING CAN BE DONE and it does not solve my
problem.

So, to my opinion, even such simple issues as mentioned above were not taken seriously. I am sure my feed back forms are probably filed into their X-Files and to be forgotten. So, tell me, can the management handle anything bigger than these, because if not, we have a serious problem.

Who is Boss?

The attendance of tenants and owners yesterday at the gathering held at the main hall was overwhelming. Well, it was because of 30 parking lots for rent. Emotions were high and everyone was suspicious of each other, everyone pondered if the draw would be fair. One MC was even threaten "bodily harm" by a resident because this meeting was held on a Saturday and by doing so, his chances of the getting parking lot slim. WTHIHTA (figure this out).

A friend of mine said he did not know of the meeting and quickly submitted a form in order to get a chance to get these parking lot. Moreover, it is actually worth "fighting" for, the parking lots, because of traffic police has been issuing tickets to those parked at the main road.

Of course GE Tan being the "SPR" of Pearl Garden, a representative said something like the draw is going to be fair and square, no cronies and all those stuff. I mean you don't have to go to the extend to say those things, but maybe it is just procedures.

One thing good about his short speech. He mentioned that GE Tan is employed to work hand in hand with the residence and MC to make things better, but they have been scolded by residents for various issues. I believe that GE Tan has a point here, give them chance to improve, but let us not forget who is boss here, the residents. He also mentioned that all complaints must be registered with GE Tan for further action.

I totally agree with this suggestion, it is a formality but it can be done many ways. As everyone is busy with work, especially residents, putting in a complaint via email is most welcome. GE Tan can create a format and we residents can use it for complaints and feed backs. All details such as unit number, description of the problems or feed backs, contact number, name etc..can be incorporated in this form. GE Tan should take this initiative to make such feed backs easier for the residents because end of the day, improvement can only be done from such feed backs.

GE Tan should quickly get its Internet connection fixed, start reading Pearl Garden, My Home blog and start communication using emails.
